There are some good things about not being employed and some things I am grateful for discovering, if you can believe it. I was thinking that there may be a top 10 list. I think I will get it started:
-
I don't shave as much as I use to
-
I have reconnected with tons or relationships (because I have more time)
-
I have spent more time with my kids
-
My drycleaning bill is almost non-existent
-
The love I have received from family and friends has been wonderful
-
I have learned about "Linkedin", Twitter (still trying to figure Twitter out), Blogs, etc.
-
I have re-read several books that I am very passionate about, and that think are great for the situation: Anthony Robbins, "Awaken the Giant Within", Dale Carnegie, "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living"
-
My wife and I are seeing a lot of each other (hopefully, she's not getting tired of me)
-
I have made some new friends while searching for what I am going to do next
-
I am learning so much right now which is incredible
I guess I have 10, but you should let me know what you are grateful and happy for right now. There is a lot of bad stuff, but I think it is best to focus on the positive!
Thanks Danny for guiding us to the positives in all of this.
I am grateful for a few things as well...
1 - I now have more time to spend with my daughters
They are the light of my life
2 - reconnecting with my true love... my hubby..27 years next month
3 -Gaining a love of cooking again
3 - Getting all those little things done I have put off for so long..like painting the entire inside of my house...a little crazy I know, but when you have time on your hands and sitting still drives you crazy, painting seems to help
4 - Family is at the core of who we are... I am planning to see my family in New York to recharge my "Family Battery"
5 - When working I was blessed to be connected to such an amazing group of people and now being able to Reconnect with my "other" family members
6 - Having the time to learn about myself and
helping a neighbor prepare for her upcoming blessing of a child..really brings me back to when I had my girls
7 - Being able to sleep past 4:30 am...This one I really like
8 - Working on new training ideas and being creative
9 - Playing with my puppy and my Queen Cat.. They seem to have gained some weight since "Mommys" been home
10 - Gaining a renewed faith in life everytime I hear of someone else landing a position... This gives me hope for the future
Keep the faith and enjoy the time that we have been given... Remember..."Our Lives are not determined by what happens to us, but how we react to what happens; not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. Resolve to succeed. The greatest discovery one can make is that nothing is impossible." Author unknown

Wow- beautiful!
I was thinking after I posted this yesterday, in 6 months, I may be more cynical, but I think your comments will keep me on target.
