What did you do for your 16th birthday?
Who knows? I turned 50 this year! This was a much more memorable time than 16 if you ask me. I know I had to have fun at 16, but 50 was awesome. The funny thing is I still have a lot of the same friends, but there are new friends which makes it more memorable.
My sister turns 52 today, so hopefully, she has a geat day! Make it memorable and spend it with friends.
The bottom line is life is about relationships, so enjoy your friends and family. Nothing else really matters.

As most know, my wife and I closed on the sell of our house last week. This was originally a difficult process, but once we got into it we looked forward to the change. The change is an adventure, and we are now looking forward to this new chapter in our lives.
I go back to say that all change is positive. Maybe it is that there is a silver lining in everything that happens in our lives. We are looking forward to what the future brings, and we are glad to get the burden of the house past us.
The last few times we have moved in our lives we hired movers and my wife pretty much managed the whole process. I made the decision this round to move us, so I hired a friend of my son who was a great hand. I am still sore and still have a few injuries from the move. I have a great respect for people who do physical labor for a living. The problem with this move is everyday I would rent a UHAUL for $19.95 and think that I had one more load; this went on for almost 2 weeks. Finally, we got it done, and are into our new rental.
I know that no one knows what the future holds, but I can tell you that we are looking forward to it. I have a great family, and a great group of friends who have supported me through this move and change. I am excited and I look forward the future.

I wrote this article a few weeks ago, and I failed to post it anywhere. I am in the middle of moving, so I have not been diligent in my blogging.
I hope you enjoy.

What are your fitness goals? What is helping or preventing you from accomplishing them?
Presented by Intel, Sponsors of Tomorrow.
I use to weigh 300+ pounds, so since I lost more or less 100 lbs, I am very motivated to exercise everyday. The main goal these days is to do something everyday that I enjoy and like. I love to jog, bike, swim, and clean my boat (wax on/was off). I tolerate weight lifting and try to do it a couple of days a week, but it is not my favorite. I really think the key is to do something everyday, and don't kill yourself. Do something that you enjoy, and that you have fun doing. Walk or ride your bike instead of driving the car. Park in the back forty when you go to the store or the mall. The point is to move and do little things that increases your movement.
I also think that you have to eat right. I try to eat 70% green, alive food that is full of water, lots of salads. I do not eat much if any animal fat- no meat, cheese, etc. Drink lots and lots of water and eat lots and lots of green alive food.
The main thing is no stress. Stress is the worse thing in the world for your health and fitness.

Think about it. If all change is positive, why is it so hard. Change is inevitable and everything in the universe is constantly changing. Change is constant and never ending. There is nothing we can do about the fact that everything changes.
We can however, do something about what we think about it. Once we realize, that all change is positive, and that our creator would never do anything that would not ultimately be good for us, I believe it puts life in a different perspective.
Just something to think about. This book I just read, "When Everything Changes, Change Everything: In a Time of Turmoil, a Pathway to Peace" by Neale Donald Walsch, gives a good perspective on the fact that all change is positive. It is a difficult book to read, but in general, I believe has tremendous insight into change.

Most people know that there are tons of opportunity in this wonderful world of ours. As the world is going through a very tough time with our global recession, there is still tons of opportunities. That is the beautiful thing about our world, there is so much opportunity sometimes it can be too much. All of this opportunity can become noise and clutter and confusion. So how do you deal with all the noise and get to what you should focus on.
My recommendation is to keep asking deeper and deeper questions. Questions in the form of self talk or even talk to your creator. The point is keep asking deeper and better questions and make sure you answer the questions. Think about it, when you are tired and confused what better way to sort through the noise than to ask questions and get answers. If at first you don't have the answer, ask a different question, and come back to it.
Prayer, self talk, or whatever you want to call it is best done in a quiet place without being disturbed. Take the time to sort through your opportunities, to ask questions, and filter out the noise. Get clarity by asking questions. Get answers by asking questions. You have heard the saying if you want better answers, ask better questions. This is so true.
I recommend taking time everyday to filter out the noise and confusion of our lives by asking questions and praying to our creator. Eventually, you will work your way to the opportunity that drives you and gives you passion. The ultimate goal is to get past the noise and get to what drives you. Once that happens, you will have perfect clarity.

This past week in Houston, I was checking this home out where I put my father. During the past few months, while our career life was rapidly changing, I have been dealing from a far with my father who has lots of problems. Fortunately, the place I had to put him appears to be ok. This is a tough thing to do, but I honestly, am ok with it because I really do not have a choice. My goal was to make sure the place was comfortable and the people were nice. As far as I could tell, they were nice people, and the place was comfortable. His wife passed away I believe in January, so I think he is ok with it as well.
It is sad watching people get old. It is sad watching people who are not healthy who have to continue and exist in the world without the things they are use to.
The point of this Blog post is really to say that it is alright to do what you have to do, as long as you have asked the right questions and have taken action. The point is that you do something. Too often people don't get involved when they should, or they may leave it for someone else to handle. This is part of contribution and should be a part of our lives. Our deepest values determine our success in life.

Momentum is a part of everything we do. Momentum can be called energy which can be positive or negative. Make sure that we have positive momentum and positive energy. It is easy to slide and get into a rut with negative momentum. If we are not going forward, we are going backwards.
In life, sports, and business it is easy to see momentum and to understand the effects that it has on the outcome of situations. The hard part for most of us to grasp is the fact that we control our momentum, and that we must control momentum and keep positive energy flowing.
It starts with the questions we ask ourselves. Are we asking empowering, energizing questions? Are we looking for the positives, what could be, what should be, and what will be?
I truly believe that momentum has one of the greatest impacts on what happens in business, in our lives, and in the outcome of most events. I also truly believe that it is up to each and everyone of us to keep positive momentum in our situations. Keeping positive momentum is hard work, and it takes focus, dedication, and a conscious effort. We have to make the decision to consciously have positive thoughts, to pray, to pray for positive outcomes, to focus on the positive target, to put the positive energy in to get the positive outcome. We must have a positive impact on our relationships and on the people we meet everyday.
In our world today, it is easy to see how everything is connected. It is easy to see how the negative momentum in the financial sector affects the momentum in the automobile industry, which affects the momentum of people in that sector, which affects the energy, of the vendors who serve those people, etc., etc. Everything is connected is some way, and it is up to each of us to do our part to change the outcome for the good. It is up to each of us to get out of our ruts and create the positive energy, the positive momentum to get our lives on track.
You have to think of the times in your life where you have seen positive momentum and positive energy at work, where everything has clicked. It could have been a diet when you were loosing weight and feeling good, it could be a relationship where everything was clicking and working, it could have been a job, a business, or even a sporting event. The point is we have all had these periods where we had good positive energy and momentum, and we need to remember what we were doing to make this happen and replicate it. I can assure you it started with the questions we were asking ourselves at the time. Then it had to do with what we were thinking of at the time. Our thoughts control so much of where we are in life. Think and focus on positive forward moving momentum.
